The Sunday Edit Mother's Day_1500

Happy Mother’s Day! Julian has something planned for today and the anticipation was killing me. Luckily, my daughter eased my guessing games:

Perry: I’m going to trick you. Ready? It’s not a picnic.

Me: Is it a picnic?

Perry: Yes, it’s a picnic! You guessed It!

Me: 🤣🤣🤣

Perry: You’re going to forget anyway, right?

Me: Yes, I will definitely forget.

*A minute passes by.*

Perry: Sorry I gave away your surprise

On that note, Happy Mother’s Day!! I hope you’re surrounded by love and attention today and everyday. I love you, mom. 🙂 Here are this week’s links from around the web.

A mother’s strength. // The New York Times

Ahmaud Arbery was out jogging when he was shot and killed. A father and son, Gregory and Travis McMichael respectively, are being charged with his murder. “It is men like these, with hot heads and cold steel, these with yearnings of heroism, the vigilantes who mask vengeance as valor, who cross their social anxiety with racial anxiety and the two spark like battery cables. Arbery was enjoying a nice run on a beautiful day when he began to be stalked by armed men. What must that have felt like?…Ahmaud Arbery was a human being, a person, a man with a family and a future, who loved and was loved. The McMichaels took all of that away on a glorious Sunday afternoon in February. Who knows what Arbery could have become. He was young, his life a buffet of possibilities. Friday would have been his 26th birthday.”// The New York Times
