Grey Levi's sweater with leopard slip skirt and over the knee boots winter outfit idea

For any Philly locals, today is the last day of the Philadelphia Flower Show. Perry and I went this week and it was gorgeous. Her main focus was finding snacks but we enjoyed it nonetheless! This weekend, we have three birthday parties with different groups of friends so I’m excited to catch up with everyone. Wishing you a relaxing Sunday!

Do you know what’s in your beauty products? “Thousands of chemicals, in billions of dollars worth of products, are being governed by regulations that haven’t been updated in decades.”

On March 5, 2019, the FDA confirmed the presence of asbestos in makeup from Claire’s, a company that markets to pre-teens and teens. Here is a direct link to the statement released by the FDA and the exact batch/lot numbers of the products in case you have any at home.

“Because the 2017 testing was done by third-party laboratories, the agency believed it was important to scientifically confirm that these reports were accurate. That’s why after Claire’s withdrew and Justice recalled suspect products from the market, the FDA began the process of conducting independent tests to determine if some of these products did in fact contain asbestos. In late February of this year, we received the results of this testing initiative.
The FDA is today announcing the results of these tests. Those tests confirmed the presence of asbestos in three of the product samples collected from Claire’s and one of the product samples collected from Justice. All suspect Justice products, including the one testing positive for asbestos, were previously recalled from the market in 2017. The FDA issued a Safety Alert today warning consumers to not use three of Claire’s products: Claire’s Eye Shadows – Batch No/Lot No: 08/17; Claire’s Compact Powder – Batch No/Lot No: 07/15; and, Claire’s Contour Palette – Batch No/Lot No: 04/17 because they tested positive for asbestos.”

I listened to a podcast this week for my mom book club, This American Life: Rom-Com, and it was hilarious. The last story validated every embarrassing period situation I’ve ever been in, and there have been a lot.

I’ve been using two new beauty products the past two weeks-a new makeup remover by Glossier, Milky Oil, for the past week a new mask by Summer Fridays, the R&R mask.

I just ran out of this shampoo and conditioner from OUAI and reordered the one for curly hair. It smells amazing and my hair has been feeling really healthy. I also did an at-home treatment with Olapex and immediately noticed a difference in how healthy and smooth my hair looked. It was totally worth the $28.

Mindy Kaling’s new comedy, Late Night, starring Emma Thompson, will hit theaters June 7th. I’m a fan of anything Mindy Kaling creates so I’m excited to watch it.
