You know you’re on vacation when a Tuesday feels like a Saturday. There’s no need to look at your watch, make-up is optional, and the only decision you need to make is whether to read the book you picked up at the airport or listen to Pandora. In very few words, that describes Bermuda. J and I are on vacation in Southampton, Bermuda and as I’m writing this post, I’m rewarding myself by staring out at the turquoise water with each completed sentence. It’s so beautiful here. That was a short one but it still counts. 🙂
The beach boys had it right! We took a short flight to get here and ever since then, we’ve been taking it slow. I’ve been doing a good amount of writing and brainstorming for my book. J has been reading The Loved Dog so we can get a bit better at understanding our puppy, Brooklyn. We really miss her. I never thought I would get so attached but we’re constantly texting J’s parents to ask how Brooklyn is doing and even FaceTime-ing with her so we can see what she’s up to. Although, we try to minimize it because she seems to recognize our voices and/or faces and gets riled up. We’re so excited to pick her up and play with her to make up for lost time.
Most of our time is spent thinking and talking about our baby girl and trying to come up with a name. Anyone have any ideas? 🙂 Please comment below! We can’t wait to come back here one day as a family. It’s clear already that she loves the beach! She’s been kicking a lot when we’re on the beach and every time we swim in the ocean, the kicks are ten-fold. It’s amazing how you can love someone so much without ever having met them.
