The ribbed midi sweater dress
February has arrived, which means I am two months away from my due date and my fashion choices have gotten significantly more limited. These photos were taken a few months ago and my baby belly is much more large and in charge at the moment. Other than wearing Julian’s t-shirts and sweaters, which are a staple whether or not I’m pregnant, I have resorted to wearing a handful of items repeatedly. One of which, is the ribbed midi sweater dress. Most people find it surprising that I don’t wear many maternity clothes. Most of the clothes I have been wearing are my non-maternity pieces that have some stretch to them. Many of my other non-maternity maternity favorites are included in this post.
I bought this dress a few years ago and immediately loved the ribbed material and neutral tones. I wish I could remember where it’s from but I have worn and washed it so many times that the tag is faded and sadly no longer legible. Not to worry, I linked similar options below and this is another favorite. There is something so classic and minimal about a fitted ribbed sweater dress. It is universally flattering, makes for the perfect work dress and is just wonderfully simple. There are times where I’ve gotten dare I say, bored of this classically underrated item of clothing but then I slightly tweak the styling and it looks brand new in my eyes. I also love this ribbed dress with a leather jacket and black boots.
Now that I’m at 31 weeks, everything feels real and rapidly approaching. I’m excited to welcome our new baby into our family, nervous about going through labor again and anxious about how our family dynamic will change in the next few months. I’m starting to think about what we will need in the first few months. So far I have the following on my mind – a bassinet, zippered onesies that I need to find from all the packed away baby clothes, swaddles, and newborn diapers! What baby items did you need the first few months? The memories are slowly coming back to me. 🙂
