In December, J and I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Punta del Este, Uruguay. I was looking through my photos and realized I never posted these pictures from Casapueblo, one of my favorite parts of the trip. Casapueblo is a museum and hotel in Punta Ballena, about 8 miles from Punta del Este.

It was originally built by Carlos Páez Vilaró, an artist from Uruguay, as a summer home and workshop and now serves as a museum, art gallery and hotel. It was also the artist’s home until he died earlier this year. The house took 36 years to complete, with efforts from the community and local fisherman who would visit the site. It was built as a tribute to his son, who was one of seventeen survivors of a plane crash in the Andes in 1972.

You can see from the photos that the location is absolutely stunning. I’ve never felt more relaxed than when we were walking on the beach or taking our time looking at the colorful paintings. His work is absolutely beautiful and would make a lovely addition to any home.

I like this midi dress because it can be dressed up or down depending on which accessories you choose. In this case, I wore flip flops, aviators, and a large tote for a more casual tourist look. For a nighttime conversion, I would add some strappy heels, a clutch, and bold lipstick. Thanks for reading! xo, Tanya
