Party Girl

Last Saturday night, J and I headed out to celebrate two different events, our good friend Dmitry’s birthday and my awesome cousin Liran’s engagement party! We had such a great time seeing everyone and celebrating these fun occasions together.  J and I have been so busy working, it was really nice to dance the night away with some of our close friends and family.

This strapless mini dress is from BCBG Max Azria’s Fall 2008 collection so needless to say, it wasn’t easy to find. I first noticed it on one of my style icons, Lauren Conrad, and have been eyeing it ever since! About a year ago, I finally found it brand new with tags on eBay for 75% off the original price and cyber stalked it until it was all mine. 🙂 I tucked it safely away in my closet and when the time came where I needed a fun party dress, there it was hanging pretty in my closet. It was so nice to have everything ready and not have to search for a dress a few days before the parties.

What drew me to the dress was the large beige and grey flower in the center. It reminded me of the black and white striped Sonia Rykiel top that Carrie wore in Sex and the City when she arrived in Paris. Even though it was a monochromatic look, the large flower and the clever way in which the stripes were positioned made it one of my favorite Carrie looks. The colors in this dress are neutral and don’t really stand out but the details of the flower (especially the zippered outline) really makes the dress unique and one of my favorite BCBG cocktail dresses.

What is your go to store for party dresses? Hope everyone has a great week! xo, Tanya
