You may have noticed that this season, it’s all about the shoulders! If you’re a regular reader of Street Style Philosophy, you know I love basics. Whether it’s a plain t-shirt, white denim, or grey jeans, I think a great wardrobe is made up of classic pieces that you can mix and match. With that being said, I also think it’s fun to include trendy items in my rotation and combine them with more versatile pieces.

One trend I am loving this season is off the shoulder dresses and tops. I started noticing them in the fall with cold shoulder knits appearing everywhere. This summer, i’m seeing so many beautiful tops and dresses with some variation of bare shoulders, whether it’s off the shoulder or one shoulder versions. While most trends come and go, this one seems to be getting more popular and I think it’s here to stay.

The top from this post was the first off the shoulder top I purchased and since then, i’ve been wearing it multiple times per week. The maxi dress i’m wearing above has a beautiful design. I love the way the sleeves show some skin. It also has that 90’s ruching that brings me back but combined with the slit and this particular silhouette, looks more current.

I’ve linked the dress (currently on sale!) and other off the shoulder dresses and tops below.

What do you think of this particular trend? Are you likely to incorporate it into your wardrobe? Let me know in the comments below! xo, Tanya
